It was a really emotional sight to watch all the tough guys - Yuvraj, Harbhajan, Sachin and even Mr. cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni getting emotional and letting those tears run through! Its a sight that every Indian(and the players, of course) would cherish for his rest of their lives. The courage and determination shown by the Indian captain, not only in the last match but rest of the tournament too is admirable. And whats special about this cup is that it was a team effort and not a one man show like it usually is.
Well, I was just adding a drop to the ocean to all that already has been written and said. But whats the catch. Where do we go from here? Before answering this question I would just ask you to think about the headlines splashing the newspapers a couple of months ago. They were full of scams- The CWG, the 2G spectrum, the WikiLeaks and what not. But amidst all this turmoil and difficult times, we have got something to smile. Something we can cheer about. It is something regarding which we can hold our head high and say WE are the champions! :)
This is a refreshing change brought on by the youth of a country who has rich demographic dividends just about to break water. What is required is to carry the momentum generated with this win forward. And they way cricket is treated in India, its not a wishful thinking that the Feel Good effect may just rub off to other fields and not just sports. I am eagerly looking forward to a new India, the onset of which has been heralded by the Men in Blue.
Go India Go!
Love
